THURISAZ Announces New Bassist

February 3, 2013

Belgium-based metallers THURISAZ have announced the addition of bassist Bjorn "Bud" Vandewalle to the group's ranks.

Comments the band: "Bjorn is a great bass player, with a warm personality and a very enthusiastic attitude, just the way we like it! He also plays in the band OMERTA from Bruges and played in several music projects in the past!

"Bjorn's first live performances will be on March 1st in Wuustwezel and March 16th in Menen, his hometown!"

THURISAZ's third album, "The Cimmerian Years", was released in May 2011 via Greece's Sleaszy Rider Records. The CD was recorded and mixed at CCR Studio in Zulte, Belgium with producer Kris Belean. The artwork was created by the Dutch artist Geert van Mook.

THURISAZ in 2009 parted ways with bassist Lars Vereecke and replaced him with Hannes Leroy.

The band had its 2004 debut album, "Scent of a Dream", reissued in April 2008 through Shiver Records. The LP was remastered and contains an acoustic live version of "Years of Silence" as the bonus track.

THURISAZ' second full-length album, "Circadian Rhythm", was released in 2007 via Shiver.
